| Bought another Mossberg
Tuesday while I was here at Gun and Game my son dropped in and began asking me about Remington and Mossberg Police/Military shotguns and all I could do was have him sit down with me and look at Remington and Mossberg models. While we were looking he commented that the Police dept, he works at were haveing a rust problem with there 870's and the Cheif and Remington were going back and worth about a resolve to the rustting problem. So he couldn't check out one to carry in his unit. After a little while he said Dad pick me out a good one, I trust you, order it and I'll pay you back for it. LOL...He did say he didn't want Ghost rings on it. Well I picked the one I have pictured here, then called around town and out of town and got the same story...There SOLD OUT it must be the war ! I spent a whole day on the Internet looking and calling. I even called Mossberg and they were out. Well I stumbled on to a site named ....... The Gun Source and they had a couple so I bought one and then had a friend fax his ffl to them to get it comeing. So what do yall think. Mossbergs list price is $ 482.00 and I got it for $ 344.00 no tax but there is shipping and $10.00 for my friend with the ffl. Do you think I picked out a good one ? He doesn't know yet...A.H Last edited by ArkansasHunter; 11-08-2007 at 11:57 AM. |

LOL Who do you think is going to end up paying for it LMAO...Maybe he will and that boy has the first dollar he first earned. My son taught school for 4 years and on the week ends he was a ParaMedic he made $ 750.OO for 2 days work as a ParaMedic, but when you figure thats a 24 hour shift it's not a lot of money, but he saved every penny of it along with his teacher pay. His Mother and I begged him to live at home where he could save all his money and he has. He wants to move out now but we keep talking him out of it. I guess it's safe to say that he's not going to stay a Police officer much longer because he wants to go to work for the park service and with his degrees and science and ParaMedic skills he should be able to...Thats his goal is to be a Park Ranger and then a Park Superintendant and retire from that position. And I was kidding he'll pay me back for the gun but if he don't thats fine...A.H |

Samuel you and others may find this interesting, here in Arkansas a Park Ranger is sent to our state Police Acadamy and are trained elbow to elbow with all other branches of law enforcement in Arkansas. Excludeing State Troppers they have there own Acadamy A Park Ranger in Ark. is no longer limited to enforceing laws in there park he's stationed at, meaning now they can enforce all Ark. state laws anywhere within the states borders. City or County. Of course I wouldn't think if a Park Ranger saw you run a stop sign over in the next town he would stop you and give you a ticket, but he can now if he wants to. It didn't use to be this way, our Ark. Legistrators passed a law some time ago to make our Park Rangers able to do this. And It's a good idea because Crime is at an all time high and drugs are everywhere. Also the Superintendents of each park also have the same authority now, and are sent to the Police acadamy as well. Matter of fact my son made friends with the Parks People in order to help him get hired and lucky for him there all pulling for him. I think there were 2 Superintendents and 4 Rangers in his class at the Police Acadamy and my son and all them stay in touch by e-mail and telephone. A.H EDIT : That Mossberg will probably weigh a ton with 9 rounds of buck shot in it. LOL Being the 590 series It's the Military grade model. And too were hopeing that picture I posted has a typo because it's suppose to be Parkerized finish. Last edited by ArkansasHunter; 11-09-2007 at 08:52 AM. |

Thanks Sam ! Moose Looks Good !!! Is that a 21'' barrel ? I offered him my 870 Express and told him all the other stuff to change it to what he wanted would be cheaper than buying a new one.... He wants his own gun...A.H |

To be honest I'm leary of the site, because the guy I talked to said they had 2 in stock and as we talked he slipped up and said I know one is back there and as we talked some more he would call his supplier and get it comeing...I feel like It's going to be a while before I get it because of the slips. Fortunitly I put it on Visa and can stop payment if it's really not available and I'm forced to wait. Another friend of mine said he can get me one at his cost of $ 313.00 plus $10.00 for him if this falls through. I don't have a clue what shipping is going to cost, come to think of it, because It was never mentioned in the conversation with the guy at The Gun Source. Hummm I think I'll call them Monday morning. I'll let all of you know the outcome, where this site can be avoided if I do have any problems...Stikbutter hang loose on ordering anything from them...A.H EDIT Thanks kR LOL for the compliment...I'm eager to hear about your shooting experience with the Marlin cannon you bought. ROFL...A.H,,,,,,,P.S. I do have some Pine Trees I'd like removed !! Last edited by ArkansasHunter; 11-11-2007 at 09:38 AM. |
