I HAVE A REMINGTON 1148 SHOTGUN. BARREL LT. 26" / 2 3/4" CHAMBER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A REPLACEMENT BARREL 3" CHAMBER THAT WOULD FIT IT. I WOULD LIKE TO USE IT FOR DUCK HUNTING. THANKS, DUCKMAN |

Sorry, That is a 2-3/4" gun ONLY ! Not a Magnum receiver on the 11-48... Rich

Rich is correct. The 11-48 went out of production before the 3" shells appeared. That being said, my late uncle hunted ducks with a 2 3/4" Model 11-48 for many years. Worked fine for him.

3" 12 ga. shells came out in the mid 20s at least if not before. That being said the 11-48 is not a 3" shotgun and can not be converted to one. They are great shotguns, just enjoy it in 2.75"s. Between my son and I we have 3 of them in 16 ga., which is the gauge we both enjoy. They are a recoil operated shot gun on the same princable as the Browning A-5. Enjoy it.

A.H Fox was chambering 3" 12s in the 20s. Model 12 Win. in the 30s, don't have exact dates handy right now, but just handled a very nice Fox 3" from 1926 Thursday.
