Ithaca 37 Riot question?

I recently bought a 37 riot shotgun, and I was wondering if I could saw off the stock? I mean is there any bolts or anything in the way that would wreck the gun?

Why don't you see about finding a replacement pistol grip or folding stock?

I've looked at a lot of aftermarket shotgun stocks and I can't recall seeing any for Ithaca shotguns.
I still would'nt cut it off.
Ithaca as a web site, and I think they have a police model so check it out and buy a butt stock from them if it will fit.

EDIT: I went to there web site and there defense page is temporarly down.
Those shot guns looked so nice I may trade for one...A.H

I would not

A great deal of the "pointabilty/control" you will have with any shotgun comes from its weight and balance point. Leave your gun as it is if, for nothing else, to retain "shootability". It is easy to see a picture of a shotgun with a pistol grip and get excited about it but if you ever try one out at the range you will understand that of which I write.

Yeah, and shooting from the hip is a great way of making noise, but you won't likely hit what you want to.
