I prefer the 20 gauge and have one on order (Pardner single shot). However, I really do understand the appeal of something in between a 20 and a 12. The market realities are that the 16 is not in mass production and prices for this option would be sky high. |

I actually like all of them. I tend to use the right tool for the job when I can. back on the 16 & 20. The 16ga carries like a 20 and hits like a 12 in the typical gun. The 16 seems to pattern better than any gun /load combo I have. I like the 16 for rabbit and squirrell. I can shoot from 1 oz - 1 1/4oz if the need arises. ![]() I like my 20 SXS for small game and especially dove ![]() ![]() The .410 is fun on squirrell when it needs to be carried all day. ![]() When duckes are on the agenda, the 12 gets the call hands down due to no tox requirements. ![]() Trap, hell, shoot them all!

I have every gauge except 28. I voted for the 20 for the reasons mentioned earlier...the shells are way too expensive and hard to find. My 16 is an old Rem. mod 11. But when I reach for a shotgun I usually reach for my 12.
