Smile My new defense shotgun(new toy)

I got laid off last Friday so I decided to cash in all my vacation days. I then decided I deserved a new gun. It's amazing how easy it was to talk myself into that .LOL! For $169.00 brand new you can't beat it. I'll keep it in the corner of my bedroom for emergency use. I plan to put a tactical light and a clip on the side to hold extra shells, money allowing. If you have a Dicks Sporting Goods near by go check one out for yourself. Oh ya it's a NEF Pardner.

Great way to celebrate, or make the transition go smoother, by buying a new gun...maybe even better than getting drunk and throwing/pissing the money down a pipe?

Been in a Dicks Sporting Goods in MN...what a store.

Heck, I just got a used Win. 1300, and paid $250 for it! But I like Winchester, and it came with three chokes, and the tool, and it shoots three inch mags, and I got some three inch double ought to go with it, so watch out, bad guys! Don't come sniffin' around here!

Or...you'll blow their sniffer off, and anything else closely connected.

Sounds like a good buy on the Win 1300. I'd like to find a deal like that.

Hey Pont are you as Impressed as I was when you bought a Pardner Pump ?
I bought the 20ga. adult size with wood stocks and it seems to be very well made.

On your's supposibly everything that will adapt to the Remington 870 will adapt to the Pardner.

Sure can't beat that price and Congrats . I like it !...A.H

Thanks for the concern but I think I'll be ok. You'll know if things get real bad I'll be selling instead of buying. Hey you just gave me an idea for a new post!

I haven't shot it yet but it looks well made. The trigger seems to break clean. Thanks for the 870 tip, I was wondering about that.

Well, that's a good thing, you can get 870 goodies, about anywhere! Hopefully the layoff is short, and temporary.

AH, good to see you're up and about! Thought maybe all that cake would weigh ya down, and put ya to sleep. Which is where I'm going, had a long day.

Ya'll take care, and I'll see ya tomorrow!

How do you like it so far? Anyone else have anything to say? I live very near a Dicks, and after seeing how cheap this shotgun was, I am seriously considering buying one tomorrow. Should i wait and get a used 870?

twisterx44 You can't beat them and I'm sorry to say an independent test was done on a Pardner 12ga, and an 870 and the Pardner was equal to better than the 870.
As far as the steel in the gun and workmanship.

You can probably find the report by typeing in Pardner Pump range report.

Andrew Cockran another member here bought one and was very Impressed with his.

Regards ...A.H

Twister44 Dick's also gave me a coupon to fill out an online survey. If you fill it out you get $10.00 off of your next purchase of $50.00 or more. So if you bought $51.00 worth of ammo you get it for$41.00. Not bad if you ask me.

Yeah, I go to dicks a lot, its where i usually buy my .223 and some other ammo too. They have some point system where after you recieve 300pts, which isn't hard to do, you get a 10.00 off coupon. I use em all the time, it really helps.

I'm new to the shotgun world, but know the 870 and moss500 are two widely known and trusted shotguns. As far as chokes, I believe, (thats the keyword haha) that they control the spread of the pellets? Could someone tell me what a few standard loads were, if there are any? How many pellets, what the 00 means, I know there are apparantly different length shells since I've heard about at least 2.5" and 3". Just trying to get up to speed on all this. I know my rifles and pretty decently handguns. Time to learn the scattergun!

Also, what would be a good skeet shooting load, a good plinking load (target shooting I guess?) and home defense load?

Thanks.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with dicks, Pardner Pump is for 189 but its the 24" barrel; I'd want the 18.5"

How hard is it to reduce it myself?

Well I finally got to shoot it today and I love it! I think my brother is going to buy one tomorrow. He loved it also. I put a slug, oo buck, and some cheap clay target rounds through it. All fired really well.
