SAFETY ALERT: Remington Model 11

Ive seen here and on a few other sites I frequent, that folks are unaware of the recoil cushion in the rear of the receiver of the Remington Model 11 shotguns.

If you have recently acquired one of these Remingtons this cushion should be inspected prior to firing the gun. With enough use, these cushions will fail, but not often. Hot salts blue will literally destroy the cushion.

First the cushion must be present,. If it isn't there, don't fire the gun, damage, as well as injury to the shooter, could result.

Second, it must not be loose on the rivet. You should not be able to turn it with your finger.

Third, there should not be any swelling or cracks around the rivet.

Since the bolt impacts this cushion during recoil minor indentation is normal.

Failure to inspect the cushion Will result in damage to the receiver should it be defective.
