| Legacy Escort 12 gauge
So i have been fairly interested in a sort of fun/self defense shotgun for awhile. I had been looking at a mossberg 500 with the 18 1/2 inch barrel, but at a shop yesterday they had a mossberg with a pistol grip, which i didn't like, but he also had an Escort 12 gauge very similar style and similarly priced. Having held both the mossberg and escort i must say the escort really does feel better. I have always been a mossberg fan but this escort just feels extremely solid compared to the last mossberg i held. The 500 just seems to rattle much more, mostly the forestock obivously, probably because it was used and the escort new? all i know is the escort felt very good and i may pick it up tomorrow. If anyone has any info./experience with Legacy Escort shotguns i would really appreciate it. Thanks GunBroker.com guns: Escort AimGuard home security 12 Ga shotgun (NIB) (item: 105311801 ends: Jul-27-08 11:42:10 PM) I believe this is the same manufacturer as the Puma leverguns, i am told as much anyway. I know they have a good reputation i hope the shotguns also do. |

I picked one up brand new about two years ago, and its one of my favorite pump guns almost the same as your link, just the silver finish Ive run maybe 2000 rounds through it and only have two issues with it so far the magazine follower broke and had to be replaced but thats not too bad and the finish on the receiver near the sharp corners has started to chip a little bit, no rust or anything really bad just would have liked to see the finish hold up a bit longer HTH

| You should go with what feels best in your hands
but which ever you choose I want to remind you there is absolutely no substitute for practice. Practice standing, crouching, kneeling, and prone to become at ease with the gun and on target with the gun. Very likely in a home defense situation you will not have time to make complex decisions. |

Well i went with it. holding the Escort and then the Mossberg the escort seemed to be a much more solid gun and it felt better in my hands. So far i love it.
