Question need some help with sights

I have a Mossberg 500 with the 28 inch barrel and just bought a 18.5 inch barrel for it today. Is there any kind of sight I can get for it for shooting slugs but take off for hunting small game? It is drilled and tapped but I would like to use the bead sight for small game. The only thing I can think of is putting on a reddot but that would be too much of a hassle taking off and then I would have to resight it when I put it back on unless I leave it on all the time. Just wondering if that was my only option.

if it has a barrel rib, Wiliams makes sights that clamp (with set screws) on the rib. I use them on my turkey shotgun and they work great/

the barrel I am looking to use the sight most with ( i think) is the shorter barrel and that doesn't have a rib..just a smooth barrel with a bead.

I would sugest a saddlemount that is attached to the action by pulling the pin that holds the trigger assembly and a screw inside the action and using a bolt and longer screw to fasten the mount.Midwayusa has them and they are $34.95 to $48.95+s&h.They are easy to remove. ,,,sam.

ATI makes a heat shield that has ghost ring sites too. It will fit on the 18.5". SKS Stocks, Shotgun Stocks, Gun Accessories (Winchester, Remington, Mossberg) by Choate, ATI, more

I guess they are ok but I like the saddle mount better because they are more solid. The problem with any receiver mount isn't removing them and reinstalling them.It is removing the barrel and re installing it.Try to tighten the barrel exactly as it was. ,,,sam.
