Remington 11-87 Super Mag-Worth the Money?

Bass Pro has the Remington Model 11-87 advertised for under $700 plus a $50.00 mail-in rebate. Anyone have experience with the 11-87? Is it worth the money? Any issues? For example cycling light loads?

Barkey, One of the guys that works for me now as a sweet 11-87 in the riot gun configuration with a short rifle sighted barrel, and it works great when we train with slugs and buckshot, but sometimes we do gunhandling drills with bird shot and his gun just will not cycle low brass bird shot. Don't have a clue if it would be the same with a sporting model.

As far as I know the Rem.Mags have an all to gather setup for magnums with two gas ports and heavier springs than the standard 1100/11-87 setup. The price sounds about right. ,,,sam.

I have a 11-87 Premier Trap 12ga chambered for 2 3/4 shells bought used 12 yrs ago. It has never failed to function no matter brand of shells clean or dirty. Never cared much for Rem. untill this one, i'll never sell it.

That is a great shotgun, a semi auto 3.5" super mag, what more can you ask for? A great buy, and you can swap barrels and stocks almost as much as the 870 series.

You would have a hard time arguing against any of the 11-87's.
