We're shooting the second generation of Sig Sauer's mini 9mm pocket pistol, the P290.

Nice review and nice shooting. The only thing I have to disagree with you on is the take down of the pistol. I have read on numerous sites about how difficult it is but I just don't seem to find it that hard to take down. Being that it is a smaller pistol makes it a bit trickier but still I don't have to use anything other than my hands to disassemble.

The take down is not all that hard for me. It's a great pistol.

They already have a P239.. It's what replaced the P230, if I remember correctly..

Anyway, yesterday I bought a 290 with the full kit, including laser, on Gunbroker..

My intent is to have it replace my Taurus 9mm Slim. The Slim has never given me a single reason to dislike it in any way.. Not a single failure in the entire time I've owned it, and it shoots where I point it and I like the trigger, BUT, because it's a Taurus I just don't trust it..

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it, but depending on a weapon to protect your life has to contain mental trust, and I still have a twinge of wonder about the Taurus.. I hope the little SIG runs as well.

Paper I think you will like the Sig 290. I have had mine for 2 years now and other than it being a little heavier than other pistols of the same size it's disappointed me one bit. Has went bang with everything I have fed it. Even light cast boolit loads.

One of the things that impressed me when looking through the videos is the accuracy that it's capable of.. I'm looking forward to it.

I am with ya on that one Paper! That is the way I feel about my Kel Tec. I still carry it because I don't have another pocket pistol but there is that twinge of doubt. I know it will go bang that first time......but, what if I need that second or third shot? So, I wind up not carrying. Silly actually. I should just pack my Glock or S&W64 and be done with it.

I do like Sigs. I have shot the 290 and found it to shoot pretty well and run pretty well. Fits nicely for a pocket pistol too. I think you will be very happy with that Sig!

Transaction complete..

Even put a few rounds through it.. Very happy and although it was sold as "used" I can find no signs of wear.. Very, very happy!!

The P232 replaced the P230.

Those are the fix barrel blow back guns similar to a walther PPK. The P239 is a larger single stack gun chambered in 9mm, .40 and .357 Sig.
