Yeah, if it didn't look abused. A used Sig is still a Sig!

my Most Accurate Semi's:

Browning Buck Mark .22
Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm

And my Sig P229 with EITHER the 40 S&W or the 357 Sig barrels. It amazes me that both barrels have the exact same POI as I use Crimson Trace Laser Grips and do not have to apply any "Kaintucky Windage" on one of the barrels. And you cannot go wrong with a CPO Sig. Yes, I would snap up a used one in a second.

I do not yet have the .357 Sig barrel, landscaping comes first *sigh* ... BUT I do plan to get one for my Sig 229 Equinox sometime this year. Currently, I do have a Springfield Armory XD in .357 Sig and that is one nice, hot round. I really want that barrel... lol... will be fun to shoot that heater out of the Sig...

I just bought a (used) Sig (SigPro) SP 2340 a few months ago. I always read good thing about Sigs. This one was affordable, Sig certified, and very clean. I went to buy one and put this one in my hand and it fit perfectly (after trying a few others.) You can tell it's a good pistol. I'm going to join the (only) local firing range in Feb. I'm excited about it even though it's an expensive (club) range to start up with.

Snowbear, I have the exact same animal... I feel the Sig 229 is the most accurate out-of-the box production handgun there is in this caliber. We can also get a barrel by Bar-Sto Precision Machine to chamber the .357 Sig too.

Great choice, by the way.

I would like to own a Sig P210. It is the only 9mm pistol I think I would own. Extremely accurate pistol.

where do ya'll find the sigs for 400-450. I fortunately shot a p226 40sw this morning and loved it. It was a range rental and I put 100rds through it. First time I have taken a chunk out of the 10 ring on the first box with a new gun. then i looked at the price tag and felt sad again. I'd settle for a used sig in a heartbeat. It was suggested to me to try the P220 but they didnt have one for rent.

I'd buy a used SIG if the price was right. i don't like going over $500 per a gun period. I know some people will argue that you need to spend more, but in my experience so far, i have found everything I have wanted under $500, all used, all in great condition.

I'd probably go up to $700 for a HK, not too sure about SIGs though. Not against them, just haven't fired a lot of them. Think I fired a P228 which is an older model replaced by the P229.

What are the price breaks on certified used SIGs?

Angry Bad Luck or What

Ok, I have read how great the Sig are and so at this weekends Gun show I purchased one of these Certified Pre-Owned Certified Pre-Owned P220 SIG SAUER thinking like alot of the other readers Sig is the Best. After getting home I load up the 2 mags that came with the Sig and attempted to load a chamber, to my dismay after releasing the slide the bullet Failed to Chamber, jamming on the barrel ramp. I knew this must be a fluke for I have read how this gun eats any and all ammo. I extracted the offending round and tried to chamber another and again it jammed. I then attempted the same with the other mag and was greeted with the same problem. At this point I decided to clean the barrel and mags. After the cleaning I was able to chamber 3 out of 10 rounds. I then went out a bought a different box of ammo, but also it was no help. I have ordered 2 new Novak P220 mags and .45 Snap caps and will test further when I receive them. If it is a magazine issue weren't these tested as a part of the 5 point checks that Sig completes before certifying these Used Guns and are they covered by the year warranty? If the mags don't work of course I will have to send the gun to SigArms for repairs. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Certified Pre-Owned Sig Problems

I purchased one of these Certified Pre-Owned SIG SAUER P220 .45 at last weeks local gun show. After getting it home I loaded up the two mags that came with the pistol and attempted to chamber a round. Upon try to chamber a round the round jammed approx half way into the chamber. After reading how the Sig will eat any and all ammo I was a little bit shocked. I cleared the round and attempted another and again the round refused to chamber. I then attempted to use the second and again had a failure to chamber the round. I then proceeded to throughly clean the pistol and magazines. I reloaded the mags and again attempted to chamber a round I was able to get about 3 out of 8 rounds to chamber. I then went out and bought another brand of ammo and they to would not chamber correctly. I have now ordered two new mags and will try them out when they arrive and if that doesn't fix the problem I will have to ship it to Sig for repairs. I am now wondering if it is the mags are they part of the 5 point checks that these pistols are suppose to go through and are they covered under the one year warranty? Also has anyone had any experiance with the Sig Customer Service? This is my first Sig and I have only heard great things about this gun and the Company. Hopefully they will help renew my faith in the Sig brand.

you should take a look at the sig p232 its a .380 and very nice compact gun, i rented one 3 days ago its a fun gun to shoot, and from reading your other posts i think youd like it! if you have big hammy hands ( and i real doubt you do) it ca be a biter though, it bit the crap out my buddy he put 4 rounds through it and put it down. i liked it though and had no problems, he realy just need to ajust his grip.

oh and for the record i dont think there is a problem with buying a used gun of any kind, as long a you use commen sence, do you reserch before hand, and inspect it properly.
