SIG Value
I have a friend who has offered his SIG ?? in .45 ACP (I'm guessing it is a P220 Carry model by his description) with case and unspecified accessories and ammo. All for $400. Can you SIG shooters tell if this is a good deal? I don't know how old the pistol is but would guess 3-5 years old.
He thought it may be a P225, but all info I've find indicate the P225 as a 9mm only. Thanks for any input. |

I'd say to jump on the offer. Obviously... you've gotta look to see wear inside and out, but Sigs, for the most part, really retain their value.
I sold a Sig P229 years ago to a cop in need... but immediately regretted it. I think I sold it for 300 and change as a favor... but could have easily gotten more. Take a look on GunBroker.com Online Gun Auction to see what they are going for... this will give you an idea of the $$$ ballpark. I think you are good at 400.00, personally. |

Yes, very good deal. I'd buy it if I had the extra cash, keeping in mind that friends almost always want what they sold you back, usually for less then what they sold it to you for, because hey, they're your friend, when their financial situation gets better. lol

Most excellent idea oldjarhead ... it's gotta fit your hand to be worth the purchase. If not... you will not be a happy shooter in comfort and where the holes are...

I sold my Sig P220 years ago and have regretted ever since.. But finally I was able to trade my Springfield XD straight across for another P220.. The only downfall to the Sigs are the magazines are expensive.. you'll pay more for a seven shot mag than you will most any high cap mag for any other brand out there.. if you're happy with three than jump on it especially for $400.. just remember the cost of mags..
