wow that is a nice looking range. How far out are those rams? I hope they set themselves up because that looks like it could take a while.

Guess what mate, you arent allowed to hunt with handguns in australia.Only allowed to use them at the range unless you have a carry permit for up north australia.

ander254,the rams are set at 200m.The range is set up for big bore or centrefire. The targets start at 50m with chickens, then pigs at 100m,turkeys at 150m and rams at 200m.Ill find some more pics for you lot.

Looks like it was and still would be one hell of a great time. What a decent set up. Need a range like that in every city in the US. It will of course never happen, but nice to dream of. lol

There are plenty of silhouette ranges in the US mate.Where do you think it started full on.The americans took the idea from the mexicans back in the sixties.

They are building a nice range here in North Las Vegas. $63 Million dollars to be exact. It should be done in early 2009. It will be a public range. The only two Ranges I know of here are both private clubs but they don't look anything like what you have there.

We have some very nice ranges here.My favourite by far is the cowra silhouette rane.It is a private club with handgun silhouette being the only use for the range. My home town club has also got a top range.Narrabri, inverell, belmont(brisbane),bowral and newcastle are just a few.

I just joined a gun club and should be getting my paperwork at the end of the month. I'm going to show them that range and see what they think. I want to play!

Looks like a blast Irish! I have been thinking it might be fun to get into some smallbore silhouette at some point.

Last picture-TC Contender with Herret grips rates with me! Nice level range, mine's in a canyon so it's not that nice. The National Rifle Association version is Hunter's Pistol Limited-the urban version with contenders. Chickens-40 meters, Pigs-50 meters, Turkeys-75 meters, and Rams-100 meters It's shot standing from offhand.

But any silhouette shoot is a good one, I'd really like to try the Unlimited or Long Range like you show but, no one seems all that interested in Texas, US.

To find ranges in the US- NRA Hunters Rights and click places to shoot.
