I take my C&R Yugo to my FFL dealer, pay him his $25 transfer fee and he "sells" it to me as regular firearm. So, it is not C&R anymore.
Will it work?
The only thing I am loosing is fee, but it is easier than to deal with all this"madness".
...a and I am not going to jail what is a good thing.....
No, That would be a waste of money, will make a mess in your bound book, and is shady.
Here is the thing; you followed a process to get your C&R, and that process was layed out by rules set forth by the BATF. The BATF sets the guidelines based on the CFR, code of federal regulations.
Bob was 100% correct in stating that with any legal question you should make written correspondance to the BATF with your specific questions. The letter will come back to you with answers on a serialized BATF letterhead.
Now , the regulations are posted online, and are kept in various databases. You have full access to these regulations to skim through or use adobe to search keywords. Once you find the answer, save it and print it.
Or... Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel you can search the net for folks who have asked the same questions and have posted letters back from the BATF.
I have linked all references to your questions, follow the links and save and or print them, this should give you piece of mind, if not put the yugo in the safe and wait for the letter from the BATF.
