My $99 Albanian SkS from AIM

Just wanted to share with you guys pics of an SkS that is Albanian. I bought it from AIM for $99--the guy said it would was going to have a cracked stock, so I bought a spare for another $10. When I first got this rifle it was literally cacked in about 1" of cosmoline. I took it to the do it your self carwash and power washed it. I then disassembled it and put everything in the dishwasher on a deep heat scrub. I refinished the stock with BLO and this is my result----

Very nice! I like the grain of the wood, especially the right side.
I've been putting off getting one of these, but I think you've just cost me a C-note! LOL!

really pretty SKS, i think some one pulled out of the wrong barrel, in the shipping dept.

get near that white carpet before the cosmoline removal...

Itcboy, I got one of these too also seemed to have been drowned in cosmoline. The stock manufacturers told me the plastic stocks wouldn't fit b/c the gas tubes were longer or something. Where did you get the replacent stock and what kind is it? b/c the stock on mine has a super short length of pull and looks like hell.

Practical-

If you want you can have the extra stock. I paid $10 for it- if you want i can post pics of it. Its in decent shape and there are no cracks.
