any way to tell sks age

most of my Serial number match ones with alot matching are 005** any way to age it just buy how many number are in the serial

found out that the short number are just last parts of the 7 digit number on the receiver and it has a short barrel lug

Since weaponry is often referred to as feminine and given female names...chances are you will never know for sure.

Often serial number listings of off shore weapons are, or can be, misleading. Even the age of the little U.S. M1 Carbine can be misleadng if one must rely on the serial number alone.
