This is my favorite of the 5. I'll take some pics later of the rest of the family.

Yugo SKS

Here's my stock Yugo. From the serial number, it was made in 1972.

I noticed that the Yugo SkS are more common than ones like my Chinese Norinco. Anyone know a good current value estimate? Thanks

Goodaim,
Not sure what yours is worth but I went to the Jackson gun show here in Ms. and found one that looked like it had been pulled out of a garbage dump. They were asking $325.00 and wouldn't come down a dollar. The thing looked like pure trash. Compared to it yours should be worth a fortune.

Audie were they the ones from Yugo or the ones from China? Cause that sounds about right for the Yugo SKS. If it had the Grenade Launcher it was a Yugo. I did see a few around here for 250 but they weren't very nice. I kept the original stock and handguard and Receiver Cover that goes on mine just for the off chance a real collector is interested. I am still trying to nail down the year it was made.

Found a very cool Reference. It's values of C&R Firearms. C&R Buds -- Military Firearm Prices

here is my yugo. I can't say whether it was unisssued or not but the stock did not have a single nick and the metal all looked new, it was soaked in cosmo and tok about 3 hours to get clean.I think I payed about $189 2 years ago.

I payed 125 for it. I added the Stock and Scope and Mount to it for a additional 95 dollars. I hadn't really thought too much about it until I started looking around and what some people have paid for theirs. I got a super deal on it. I have not had any real trouble out of it. The stock was a big prob when I bought it. It was beat up looking and didn't fit very well. That seems to be common though in the older SKS's. Mine is a Norinco Made in China. I am still trying to put a date on the rifle. Anyone know where I can find out what the numbers on it mean and figure a date of manufacture? Looks pretty good there Tex.

Mike I checked out that site on the SKS it was of some help but not alot on the year of manufacture. I guess in the end it doesn't really matter. Cause I got a really cool looking SKS for under 250 bucks LOL.
