Russian SKS

Hey Guys- A guy has a 1954 Tula SKS with no import stamp. Barrel is in great shape, numbers match, stock has a few scrapes and some scratches. One ding at bottom rear of buttstock.
Side of receiver is stamped CCCP_ _. Last 2 are numbers but I have forgot them. Bayonet is blade type and functional. It's a heavy rifle! What is it worth ballpark?
Thanks!

In some places, a motivated buyer could offer $400 for a decent Russian SKS.

I've seen imported models for around $250 in decent shape at local pawn shops.

Offer him $250 for it and run like hell with it when he sells it to you.

It is a real nice weapon, and I have a thing for Tula's you see. He'll sell for $300. What say you all? Get it, or wait for a better one?

Thumbs up

Get it! That's a fair price for a nice Russian. Even a worn Norinco goes for $250 down here - Russians are very sought-after but hard to find.

Fair price - nothing special, but you will likely not find one for too much less. Get it if you want one.

Local gunshop has two of them for 425$ each. Not a bad deal, can always unload it easily for that price!

Assuming the barrel is in good shape $300 to $400 is about right for the rifle. Offer him $200 and negotiate from there.

Update: He finally took $280, and a few at the local pub! Not too bad I would think.
