adjustable stock question?

I was wondering do many people have the stocks that are adjustable and when you have one lets say you sight it in with the stock in one position, then later on you move it to another does it make much of difference with how your shooting cause I have a scope and was just wondering how much it would matter?

I am sorry it was kinda drawn out I was just wondering if having the gun positioned a little different would be a big issue.
