| Senior Member | Something to do with the gas blowback system. Could be crudded up inside. Or if it's a dumb person and it's a Yugo SKS, the gas tube might be set on single shot and the person doesn't know it. Anyway you look at it, I'm sure it's something to do with the gas system and all that can easily be replaced for a minimal cost.

| Does it extract but not eject? If so does it recoil fully? If it recoils fully and extracts but does not eject look at the ejector. If it does not recoil fully and/or extract look at the gas block or tube and extractor on the bolt.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | The first thing we need to know is if it's a Yugo or not. If it is, it's prob. got the gas valve in the wrong position or it's plugged up. If it's not a Yugo, it probably has a plugged up gas port, the gas tube is crudded up, or the tube is loose enough that it won't build enough pressure to cycle the gas piston. This is just a sample of possibilities-there are more.

| Yep it is a yugo. I think all the parts are available for these, right? So if it needs an ejector or gas valve I should find them readily. Thanks for your help! |

| Senior Member | Since it is a Yugo, check your gas valve shut off first. There's a good possibility it's just stuck in the shut off position.

| Replacing the gas valve with a new gas valve often fixes ejection problems on the Yugos. The valves are fairly inexpensive. LD |

| Thanks guys. I went ahead and bought one that was in shooting condition. I am buying this as a gift for my son in law. I bought one for myself 2 weeks ago just haven't gotten to the dealer to pick it up. But when showing the son in law on line he started researching and got to commenting how neat these things sounded so ... Santa will bring him a carbine! |

| Well we had our Christmas with my daughter and son-in-law today. Should have seen his face when that SKS came out of the box! I think he was pretty taken with the thing. I figured he would be the way he oohed and aawed over mine a couple weeks back. So after opening the gun and the case and the 500 rounds of ammo, he asked me if I had shot mine yet. I said nope not yet. So we throw these things into the Jeep and head out into the blowing snow and near zero windchill to pull the trigger on these things. Both fired flawlessly no problems. Both need some trigger work whereas there is a lot of pull but we can work that out. Very pleased with the way these things spit the lead!! Next time we will take site in supplies and targets. |
