| 30 round steel mag
I just got my 30 round mag from cabelas today. The damned thing wont fit. I have heard that some filing may need to be done. Where? Should I just send it back? I have heard the tapco mags are better.

| Probably your magazine is fine.
You need to hold the bolt open when you load it. There is a sliding pin at the back of the magazine slot that you can push up with your fingers to catch the bolt before sliding in the aftermarket magazine. It is one of the reasons that I like the stock fixed mag. It takes 3-5 seconds to reload it and it works. One of my Sk's didnt come with a fixed magazine and I almost swear every time I reload it with a full mag. Both of my Sk's are chinese. I don't think the Russian, Albanian or Yugos are different. These weapons are a blast to bump. |

Gunbroker.com has some Chinese fixed 20rds. I myself prefer the detachable. For me it's a lot quicker reloading, especially with my 30rds. If you don't want your 30, I'll be glad to take it off your hands for you!
