| Recoil Pad and Tool Kit I was able to completely take down my SKS without any problems the first day I owned it, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how the cleaning kit trap door goes back on. Also, the pad won't fit right now. ![]() |

| Make sure you have the pad right side up. It's not ambidexterous. You might have to stretch it a little bit to get it to fit correctly. The cleaning trap door opens inward, and there is only one way it will fit into the pad and do that. Take the pad off the rifle and fiddle with the trap door where you can see what you are doing to determine which side is 'up.' It took me a minute after I stripped mine down to clean all the cosmoline off it, to get the buttpad and trapdoor back on in the correct position. |

| Yep, have to agree with Cyrano. Looks like it is upside down. |

| The taper is correct. I'll play with the trap door and see if it helps. I should have guessed being a Century. I got the pad to fit. I just had to screw the top down first. The trap door on the other hand is too big for the cutout. My guess is the took it from another rifle that has a wider stock. I should have guessed being a Century. I got the pad to fit.
