Hot Shot I was checking out ammo today on J and G sales. They had ammo called Hot Shot. Just wondering if anyone out there has used it and if it's any good?

Do they have steel projectiles? The rifle range near my home does not allow military grade steel projectiles, apparently they tear up the range too bad.

You need to ask the people at the range to specify exactly what there taking about. If there talking about steel core ammo as long as you stay away from the Chinese stuff you will be fine which shouldn't be a problem since its pretty scares and about a $1 a Rd and banned from import since 1994. Most if not all of the Chinese ammo has steel cores instead of lead where all ammo imported into the US now in 7.62 x 39 is lead core, however some of the various Russian ammo has copper coated steel case bullets with a lead cores and some ranges want allow that either. I know of a few that will only allow either US commercial ammo or the Wolf Yellow Box Non-Magnetic which is hard to fine anyways. I would just buy a box of soft points and ask they create less suspicion. Last edited by res45; 03-29-2008 at 07:30 PM.
