Mine is a '59 model, not a true Sino-Soviet, but it meets all criteria except serial number range and date. I suspect it was made up of remaining S-S parts, before they began altering production to make it cheaper.

I know...this is a VERY OLD thread. I'm researching the SKS factory /36\...I just put one on layaway yesterday.
Big Dog seems to be correct.
Also, like mine, it appears to have a stamped trigger guard that would mean late model.
Still, /36\ is not as common as the /26\...I have 3 /26\'s (one a Para).
If anyone has info/links on the /36\, please post.
