I agree, practically every other high capacity magazine on the market has a reputation for not working properly, I have read where some filed metal magazines to make more clearance for the bullet tip and corrected feeding issues but have not witnessed that.

I have yet to hear one person specifically say the "Tapco 20" doesn't work correctly.

After the last round is fired using the Tapco 20 the bolt stays open automatically and it's click then click and the next Tapco 20 is in FAST ready to go.

I have a shoulder bag I carry when shooting with my ammo and stuff, I still have the original in the bag just in case. With a simple removal of the trigger housing it goes back in easily.

You can file on the Tapco a little and then reload it with stripper clips also.
i mean in front of me.
out of the dozens i have seen folks try to shoot at both of my clubs ranges.
not once have i seen one work.

there probably arent very many videos of guys cursing a weapon that doesnt fire.

i cut to the chase and bought some AK'S
i love my SKS's just the way they are.

I think that is a problem with the little medal piece that makes that happen is still a bit junked up and slow to move all the way to the top
Nick the bolt stop your referring to should move up and down with no resistance using just simple finger pressure or when the last round ejects the follower on the magazine will push it up in front of the bolt ,it probably has some cosmoline still in,around and behind it. Take it out of the stock and get you a can of cheap Wally World brake cleaner and flush it out good. You should have no problems then.

Billy,

Thats great you love your SKS's the way they are, it's a fine rifle design from the start.

I am not doubting what you have seen. I am only curious and have to ask. Are the people at your range using "TAPCO brand" 20 round magazines? I too like the SKS in original form and I like AK47's also. The SKS I have converted was not a fine museum example of one. It is a flawless operating gun however that is fun to shoot.

It's just after having a few SKS friends I know personally and go shooting with along with MANY others I have met from time to time are having the same results with the Tapco 20 as I, it is hard to believe that suddenly someone is reporting dozens of people are using them and not one has worked correctly.

The TAPCO is not intended for use in the original wood stock without opening the mag well up more by cutting wood away to make room, otherwise it squeezes the polymer magazine. It was designed for use with the TAPCO fusion stock which has a larger mag well.

If the dozens you have seen are not the Tapco 20, I would not be at all surprised to hear they don't work right. Just some clarity on the brands you have witnessed, thats all. They are not all the same...

Thanks
