I think I would be hard pushed to find somewhere where the population is denser!

I bet you believe the term should be "Accidental Discharge"" and not "Negligent Discharge"!

I'm saying when you pointed it up you were being negligent and then when you charged/loaded it in that position you were being extremely negligent!

Your negligence resulted in a live round leaving the safety area of that range! You had no idea of where that round would land or who could have been in that area.

If and going by your previous statements, you were actually expecting a slamfire, then I would say you were being "Criminally Negligent!"

I, for one, would not like to be within at least 3 miles of you when you have a firearm in your possession!

Thanks for the response to my question Marion. I knew you,Swede or someone would. And FWIW, and to be honest, I wasn't sure when anyone would so I'd called Murray and asked and that was what he said. The only one that requires a different one is the one on his site that says that, the earlier model Russian I believe?

Anyways, thanks again my friend.

If you had actually read my previous statements you would understand that I was being facetious. I knew exactly where the bullet landed, in a field somewhere, nowhere near anybody or anything.

Lol... kids got an attitude. I think one of the first rules you ever learn is not to point a loaded gun in the air. Plus, it could have come down on you or the illegal (wouldn't be that bad...) but still you'ld go to prison. Just say "Oops i pucked up, shouldn't have pointed a loaded gun in the air..." Still wondering what you were doing with it in the air in the first place. Hopefully you learned not to do that again.

MACHINEGUN I had an SKS that when you let the bolt go home fired all 10 rounds, had to have my gunsmith work on it, its right now. I almost had to change my shorts when it did this, thank goodness it was pointed down range. I also had a 45 and an M-1 that would double had to have them fixed. (PS. I used to teach gun training so I point my guns down range at all times)

No, the first rule you learn about a gun is not to point it at somebody else or yourself, and I wasn't doing either of those.

David I think your just trying to make your self out to be a lot smarter than you are .. Or maybe you just dont like to admit you made a mistake .. Get off your high horse and be nice to others ..This isnt a strict forum and most here will help when they can and do contribute to the forum .. I am sure you have things to contribute , It would be nice if you would and quite trying to make out like you know it all..You dont!!

The gun misfired is true but you didnt follow satey rules by pointing it down range and in your own words you knew it was going to misfire so that isnt even a issue.BTW smart isnt the same as being educated . you can have a bunch of education and not be too smart..

Ok so you mispoke before?just for information here is a rule that is posted in almost every range I have ever seen..
1 .4.3. ll firearms will be placed on shooting benches with the muzzles pointed down range or in the rifle racks.
Racks are also pointed down range

And you know that how? You saw the bullet land? You know there was nobody around? Believe me, trajectories can change when you go through a roof.

No, I think it's you that does not understand. It does not matter that it slam fired. The rifle was not pointed in a safe direction.

Because you were holding it in an unsafe position when it discharged. It's as easy as that.
