IMO, any aftermarket stock for the SKS out there are total garbage. Adding anything aside from a 10 or 20 round fixed mag is a waste of money and will hurt the value.
I have 7 SKS rifles at the moment and all of them are bone stock. I went through a terrible ordeal modifying a Yugo and it was a time I wish I could take back.
I have one that came with a Choate stock when I bought it. After re fitting, it is very solid. I wouldn't call it junk. If it was, I would've gotten a wooden SKS stock for it. I've never used a Tapco before though.

Thanx but if I were to re-stock an SKS, prolly still go with the Choate stocks. The SKS is ugly enough by itself and a Tapco stock just doesn't help in that department at all. I don't plan on using "rails", pistol grips or removable mags so I don't really need a Tapco stock, although they are of very good quality.

If you weren't such a turd...:P On a more important note, it looks pretty good on my Norinco with the Choate muzzle device. Balance is really nice and LOP is about perfect.
I gotta talk at yah today after work. You gonna be around about 5pm your time? If so either call me or I'll call you.

I thought the Tapco looked better than most and I really liked how it pointed and how light it was. If I ever get back into messing with my SKSs I think I will set one up with the Tapco.

Maybe that Tech-Sight too huh? It was good talkin and meetin with yah.
The Tapco to me made my SKS feel more like the battle rifle it was designed to be.

If I keep both of my rifles then one will be scoped and the other will be wearing a Tech-Site. Yes, I was real impressed with that also. Being a US mil-surp collector I favor the peep style sights anyway. That and the much longer sight plane is a huge improvement. One at a time though. - haha.....

I hear that. My next project is putting a scope on that Mosin M38 Carbine with that Jmeck scope mount. I'm stoked.
