Gamo PBA ammo works as advertised

Thwacked a tree rat with it yesterday. Stoned it dead at about 20 yards. From My RWS PBA ammo is published at 1200 FPS. The stuff is pricy, $10.00 per 100 but it's fast & accurate.

I seen that advertised. The guy in the pic had some sort of ferrel hog he took with it. That would be some very specific shot placement.

Interested

Using an air rifle for some of my squirrel hunting seems an interesting possibility. I have read up on air rifles a bit (just a wee bit so far), and I am just a little concerned about shot-to-shot consistency. In reading some reviews regards the GAMO Hunter a number of the reviewers complained about having to frequently re-adjust their sights. I suspect, I hope, the problem is cheap optics. But what is the experience of you fellows who actually hunt with air rifles regards shot-to-shot consistency? Can an air rifle, a decent air rifle, be relied upon to perform consistently under hunting conditions? What rifle might some of you recommend to consider? For starters, what might be reasonable to consider in the $200 - $300 range? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

NH,
The only issue I have had with my RWS was the scope rings. They are the adjustable type for rough windage and elevation. They had too many danged screws on them that would want to work loose under the unique recoil of a spring operated air rifle. I used Loc tite on all the little boogers and have not had a problem since. At approx 30 feet in the yard I can shoot a ragged one hole group if I do my part.

There are some critics of a break barrel action that wear will change impact overe time & the side cockers are better due to a barrel fixed to the reciver. I'm not overly concerned with the RWS, the Germans make a fine rifle. My RWS Panther Combo ran $219.00

Your welcome. Just keep in mind, I'm no expert. This RWS is my first. Glad to share what I know though. Four dead squirrels tell no lies though, LOL.
