Tommy if you'd ever had one of them there tree rats decide to use your hand or arm as a chew toy you'd think differently! LOL Like all rodents their teeth continue to grow throughout their lives, and when mast (tree nuts, seeds, fruits, berries) are in short supply they can and do turn predatory it isn't too unbelievable to hear that a large squirrel population might under starvation and the resultant stress attack a dog or cat or anything else they perceived as a meal.

i know they have teeth. i have drew blood plenty of times from them. i always made sure they had something hard to chew on they gotta chew.lol
