| any Airgun hunters? Hi all, Stumbled on this site today, and saw a couple posts airgun related, thought I would see if any have an interest in airguns here. I've been rather hooked on Airguns for years now, they brought back alot of enjoyment to small game hunting and shooting in general for me. I own an AirArms 410EB pcp, and mainly use it for squirrel hunting besides countless practice in the yard. I can't think of any tool better suited for the task, its a pure joy to say the least. |

| Welcome to G&G! I first started hunting with Air Guns (Squirrel, Groundhog, and Crow). I love it when I first started hunting, because there was no recoil, but it required a lot of skill (perhaps more than with a firearm) to make a good kill. I will always have an Airgun |

| I've taken more squirrels, and rabbits with a Benjamin 392 (.22 cal.) than I care to remember. Haven't hunted with it so far this year, I've started collecting Crosman 1377 American Classic pistols. This was the first model air pistol I ever had, and I just fell for the design. Got my first one in 1983, still got it. now I have six and looking for more.

| I have a RWS for about 5 years now for varmint control and have never stripped it down or oiled it yet. I know your suppose to use extemely thin oil and very little...where can I get a a link to a schematic for the RWS and instructions on general maintenance? Here's a pic of "Ole Piney" who decided to take up residence in my house walls. I baited him wth sunflower seeds. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...e/olepiney.jpg I don't get it why some of my pic's post and others only link?

| I have never hunted Squirrel with a modern Airgun but bet it would be a real hoot to do so.Sounds like a real short range challenge.Oh by the way Killer, that is a handsome Squirrel you have in your picture. |

| Iv'e harvested a few squirrels this seaon webs. It is a fairly short range game, basically you want to be on the same tree they are in. With the .177 head shots are a must I tried a frontal chest shot. The Gamo PBA penetrated and there was blood but it didn't stop the squirrell. Seemed to slow him down a bit, finished with a head shot. They don't walk away from that. |

| They are fun. I still like the bang/recoil/smell of burnt gunpowder though. |

| Pump Air Rifle I have dropped (as in instantly dead) not a few bushy tails with head shots from an old Crossman pump air rifle - but they have to be head shots. Anywhere other than the head and you'll get quite an odd dance, but no kill. (Don't like shooting and not killing.) I even managed a cottontail with the same multi-pump rifle (ten pumps), but I am very interesting in trying a springer. Any recommendations from anyone? msj

| I once got PO'd at a certain backyard tree rat, and popped him with my Red Ryder - my 'cat scat' gun. Killed the bugger!! He was probably as surprised as I was . . . but I walked away . . . ![]() Normally, I prefer .22 rifle and shotgun for hunting small critters.

| That's kind of a funny statement condiering they make fine ADAULT air rifles. BTW, it takes a lot more HUNTING skill to get close enlught to harvest with one. I enjoy using mine occasionally. I'm by far no beginner been hunting for at least 35 years. Can you clarify? I'm confused. |

| I've posted this info before but in case your wondering what an air rifle can do as far as damage. I was sighting in my RWS .17 which gets approx 1000 fps at the muzzle. I set up a paper target at 40 yards. At the end of the sight in I noticed one of the pine 1.5" x 1.5" back stop boards split and could see the pellet. I cut it open to find the pellet had traveled an inch into the wood. It dawned on me at 40 yards a pellet could easily zip through a mans finger bone. So even though it's called an air gun they got power. Now I see RWS has a 1350 fps rifle. Wonder where the line will be crossed with how many fps allowed before they will be called drug dealers choice of weapon...."Silent, powerfull, no license needed to buy."
