long shot

today i got up and wanted some squirrel for dinner thought it would make a good sunday dinner. so i kep lookn out the window to see if any were back there i was about to go out and there was one way out back about 125yards all i have is and old marlin 60 .22 with a 9x32 scope on it and tought what the hell so i when up stairs got my gun on got out on to my deck. he was behind my dads garden so i couldnt lay down so i took the shot standing up. got him right in the hind legs not the best shot cuz i had to do a follow up shot on him but i never been so happy with my little .22 rifle and i was using bulk ammo too!

Next time you wound a squirrel instead of shooting again just get a stick and hold it so you can get your foot on its rib cage and press down in a minute it will expire and you dont ruin any more meat. sam.

I'm impressed

125yd shot on squirrel? I'm impressed to say the least, even if you did hit him in the hind legs. Hmmmmm....now-a days I don't think I could even see a squirrel at 125yd! Good shooting!

I'm on a 6" X 6" coffee can at 100 with iron sights with an old Marlin Model 80...but a squirrel at 125 is impressive.
