38 s&W pre 1945

I own a S&W 38 2inch handgun I believe it was made early 1900s in really good condition the first three number on the 5 digit numbers are 215. Can anyone help me with the approx value, age etc. It has black handles they look plastic

Is the nickel finish intact and still retains luster? What condition is the cylinder and barrel? by saying S&W 38, I am guessing it fires the 38 S&W round and not .38 Special. I have a few of the older pre-1899 handguns that fired that round, and the ones that worked well and had the original nickel plating would have a value of around $350-$550. Is the timing 100%?
