| Qs on Model 411 I'm looking at getting my first handgun. Been looking pretty serious into a Taurus PT 24/7, but came across a good deal on a S&W 411 .40cal. Does anyone have one, and how do you like it? Mainly this gun would be just for play and home protection, but I may also consider getting a CCW if this pistol is feasable for that use. I figure with only a 4" barrel it should. I searched this forum and wasn't able to find anything. Any info yall can give me would be greatly appreciated.

| Super Moderator ![]() | There's barrel length and then there's overall length. Overall size is what matters in CCW. My opinion on the Smith autos is that they're too big for what they do. Taurus 24/7 is a good choice in my opinion, but I highly recommend a Steyr M-40 for an excellent carry, target, and general use pistol. I hope to get a long slide Taurus 24/7 later based on it sharing many good features with the Steyr, but in a larger package more suited for accessories and longer shots. It would be a "tactical" or "combat" pistol for home defense and SHTF wereeas my M40 would be a better CCW.
