chamfer smith and wesson model 66 revolver cylinder

Has onyone here heard of Fletcher a gunsmith that has a web site? He charges 25.00 for chamfering my smith and wesson m66 cylinder. I wonder if anyone has had any experience with his work. I have seen in other forums where one can just take the edge of with a dremel tool. Does anyone know how to do it with a dremel tool?

A dremel tool in the hands of a Non-Gunsmith is a Destructive device...Gunsmiths are There for a reason, but they can't always fix a ruined gun...
I charge double or triple to fix other peoples mistakes , usually because it takes me longer than it would to do the job to begin with...

Chamfering is cutting metal away from the mouth of the cylinder holes,at an angle, that allows faster insertion of cartridges, which also means cutting the hand ejector lip as well.

Chamfering solves a problem that does not exist. I doubt you would get a quality job for $25.

And...I don't use a Dremel tool to do it...I use a drill press or milling machine and special High speed cutters to chamfer cylinders...once set up it takes 15-20 minutes to do the job. Prices range from 25-50 dollars per 6 hole cylinder....

It is something usually only done on Competition revolvers for speed shooting...Not a necessary thing for a Regular Duty Gun....

Actually when one has to reload quickly chamfering aids in that reload either w/moon clips or speed loaders.
