| S&W M&P .38 and Model 4006 .40 cal... Howdy to all! I'm new to this forum. I have a few questions and will be as brief as possible. First off, I have an old S&W M&P Issue .38 spl. Top notch shape. From google, I learn that these beauties came from the factory with the nickel plating and pearl grips. This one has the last patent date of DEC.29.14, which I reckon is 1914? SN # 969523. There's another number 1 and under that 61407, on the inside. It's and heirloom piece and I guard it with my life. Just curious what she'd fetch on the market and any interesting info would also be appreciated. Have pics if that would help. Second question, I was raised around firearms but not well versed on gun care. I recently purchased a S&W Model 4006 .40 cal. I F'ING LOVE IT!!! For my rifle I'm hella liberal with the good ole Rem Oil. I'm new to autos and was shooting the shit with a guy at work and he told me that Rem Oil and lubricants of the like arebad for autos. He reccomended something called Dry Slide? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all that read and pleasehit me back with any info. |

| Off the top my head I would say made in the thirties, and if nickle and pear, in very good condition, worth about $600. Check out smith-wessonforum.com and you well get a better answer. Pre 10's have become collectible and the price is way up on them.
