S&W 40F

How does one remove the firing pin and spring?

I can't get the piece on the back of the slid to slid out, so the pieces

will be released.

What is the trick to it?

Thanks

Pull the slide back and hold it back with your hands. Right next to the stop slide is a take down catch. You pull that down and push the slide off. Or sometimes you can let the slide go back to neutral and pull the trigger. The slide should come off.
