| Senior Member | I have a S&W model 14, K38 Masterpiece. Of the 20 or so pistols I own this is by far the most accurate. It has a 6" barrel, target trigger, target hammer and adjustable sights. Everyone who has shot it wants to buy it. I shoot medium handloads with lead semi-wadcutters. Indy |

| Registered User | SIR, He is referring to an extra wide hammer spur and extra wide trigger. S&W is a sound choice for building what you want, K or L frame is a good choice because the grip size and feel will be the same, with a little more heft on the L-frame, barrel length of 6" seems to be most popular also action work and a good quality barrel is the key to the revolver. | Senior Member | Yes, the other Gentleman has it right. The hammer is wider and the trigger is wider too. The trigger does not have a trigger shoe. A trigger shoe is a device that clamps on to a narrow trigger making it wider. You may consider the shoe rather than changing out the existing trigger. Indy |

| Registered User | Please give seroius thought to a Colt Python with a six or eight inch barrel. If you can shoot a Python belonging to someone else before making a final decision, I can pretty well assure you that you will more than pleased with it. I bought a new Python (6") blued steel a good many years ago. I had a good action job done on it and some new sights which I could see better with my bad vision. I qualified many times with it at never than a 98.6 score. I carried it daily for years. I place more pride and satisfaction with this weapon than any of the many others I do or have owned. Good luck. |
