| I recently got an XD9 and found that the magazine actually holds 17rds vs. the advertised 16rds. Any thoughts or comments on this? ![]() |

| Senior Member | I've heard that with guns such as these where there's a 9mm and .40 version you can use the .40 mags and slightly bend the lips in for 1-2 more round capacity. Not sure if the frames on the XDs are compatible like that, but just a thought... |

| Did that trick for a long time by using Ruger P944 40 cal mags in a P89 9mm. Could always squeeze in a couple more nines. |

| Senior Member ![]() | You may be overcompressing the spring and, by design, inherently weakening it and it may cause problems in the future, and you may be exerting excessive pressure on the feed lips which will cause feeding malfunctions...If you can't hit em with 16 rounds, you don't need to be shooting at em !
