Springfield Model 18, I can't find crap about this gun

I have a Springfield armory Model 18 bolt action .410 shotgun.

So far I have not been able to find any info or auctions on this gun and its bugging the HeII out of me.

Does anyone know anything about this gun?

Its detachable magazine holds 3 rounds of an 410 ammo, it has what seems to be a one or two foot trigger pull.

I can get the serial number if need be.

Thank you woderful members in advance.

I don't have a clue, but I CAN tell you that the Cabela's in Kansas City, Ks. has one on their used gun rack. I picked it up and played with it 'cause I'd never seen one either.

Not to be a smartass but have you tried going to springfield's website and hitting the contact us link and throwing them an email. I did about a gun and they responded in about a day and a half.

What I have is that they were made somewhere between 1914-1945 by the Stevens / Springfield group.
Not much info is out there without really digging. They are classed as Inexpensive ranging from 75.00 to 150.00... No collector Interest, hence the value.

I have a Stevens .410 that sounds like the same thing. Bolt-action, 3 round mag, cheesy checkering, no frills, nothing special. Used to be my grandma's, and she was born in 1895 or so. Just shot it last weekend for the first time in god-only-knows-how-many years. I'll try to remember to take some photos.

You want obscure - I have a Kessler 12 gauge boltie - took awhile to find info on it! Good gun, but another 'economy grade' type.
