| XD45 loaded mag question I am a proud recent owner of a two tone 5" tacticle XD45 and I was wondering how long can I leave my magizine loaded long term for home defence. After all a unloaded gun is not much more than an expencive paper weight in the event of extream need. I have a way to sicure my XD 100% safely, but still access it rapidly if nessasary. I'm thinking along the lines of loading my 13 round capcity mags with say only ten rounds to reduce stress on the mag spring, but then how often do I alternate between the two mags it came with and would purchasing a third mag be a good idea, as i was planing on doing so anyway. Thanks for the input and help. Arthur. |

| Mooseman is right good mags it doesn't matter how long you keep them loaded to the max they never good bad and will always be ready. Cheap after market crap, well you get what you pay for. My military model 1911 45ACP has never had it's mags unloaded and I have had it for 25years, My xd45acp mags have been loaded for about 2 years and no malfunctions they just keep clicking the rounds out with no hangups at all so don't worry about that. Now you can sleep easier knowing thing are safe and functioning. |
