M95 Charger Clips

Man, people are stupid. I saw an ebay auction for 10 M95 stripper clips, so I bid twenty bucks. The auction ended at well over sixty bucks. The Old Western Scrounger straight out sells them for $2.50 a piece. You do the math.

I just purchased 4 clips, two of them had the swastika and two of them had the double head eagle. Total price to get shipped to my door was $22.50. $5 per clip and $2.50 for shipping and processing.

Still a hell of a deal.

I purchased a hundred rounds of corrosive 8x56mm Styer ammo packed in Styer (Mannlicher-style) clips. I bought them more the 20 clips than the ammo which I will probably just store away until the market stops being stupid and somebody makes some modern ammo at a reasonable price. Remember, without clips, the Styer 95 rifle is just a single shot. I borrowed an online image below. The author accruately describes the clips as "en bloc clips" since they are considered an essential part of the rifle's operation as opposed to "chargers" used in Mauser influenced rifles.

Steyr-Mannlicher M95/30 short rifle & Mannlicher en bloc clips.

Well J&G said it would be at least 2 weeks before the gun gets shipped so I should have a little time. And I ordered the optional 20rds of surplus with the gun so I should have a few rounds to test it out with. My VZ-24 should be in today...too bad I don't have time to go get it. UPS said my 120 rds of 7mm should be here today too. Woohoo!

I can get some surplus 8X56R ammo from my local gun shop for about a $1 a round, you pay shipping and I can get you around 120 total, in packs of 15.
