New Steyr for Me

Well, I just got my first Steyr, ordered it from AIM w/bayo ($10 bucks extra, cheap!) and spent the weekend cleaning out all the cosmo from every nook & cranny. But lo and behold, it looks like a tiger-stripe stock and the bore looks like it's never been fired! Stock finish is sorta crummy, must have been brushed on in a wind storm so I'll probably have to strip it & do a re-finish on it. Took the bolt apart to get the crud out, simple coming apart but a bit challenging going back together. Overall, very pleased with what I got from AIM

Got some mil-surp ammo for it and I heard it can take your shoulder off; is it worse than my Mosin M38?

Yup worse than your M38. Fun to shoot. But then they are ALL fun to shoot to me.

And you do know pics are mandatory, don't you?

I was going to say SOG was cheaper, but they didn't include a bayonet.

They are a blast to shoot, really I love mine. 1903 Carbine.

gunnut2, yours looks great! I haven't taken mine to the range yet, I'm still waiting for the bruise to go away from shooting my mosin M38. I hear these kick harder -- looks like I'll be needing a shoulder pad, huh?
