if the zombies are fast.
all a gun does is maybe buy you seconds to run from one safe place to another.
standing and shooting is suicide.

I`m thinking an over/under would be a nice weapon. Special made of course.
Top barrel would be in Rem 35. Just in case the Zombie is in the brush.
Bottom barrel would be a "flame " thrower. Good out to 50 yds. Adjustable spray pattern for single or group shots. Nothing like burning zombie in the morning!

I think any weapon I had handy. Zombies are not cool! A scoped rifle to thin them out at a distance, Shottie when they get closer, .45 when they are breaching your position, and a Stihl chainsaw for when they get inside!

It is like they say, playing with fire is dangerous. You torch a zombie and that zombie runs into something flammable and now you gotta deal with a full blown fire.

A Thompson machine gun would be real handy in close quarters fighting Zoombies.
Better yet would be something along the lines of a Thompson machine gun that shoots 12ga. ammo with Buck Shot

tlarkin: "full blown fire." Un-fortunatly, collateral damage by fire or other wise is to be expected.

If we're talking about fictional weapons, I'll go with a 1 cm pistol and 1 cm submachine gun-type powergun from the Hammer's Slammers universe and a goodly supply of ammunition for them.
If we are talking about real weapons, I want an Atchison Assualt 12 with a variety of rounds and at least two bandoliers of ammunition for the longarm; and something like a M1911A1 with laser sights for the pistol. And some Willy Pete grenades, too.

If they are voodoo style zombies, salt should stop them in their tracks. But beheading or burning are the only sure ways to stop them regardless of type.
Does anyone publish a North American Guide to Zombies? |

this is the only way, hit'em with sugar. even better if you can light the ammo before shooting, the flaming confection will stick and burn

Hmmmm.........sugar toasted zombie! Give me the gray sticky part!
Max Brooks has authored, "The official zombie survival guide". Interesting reading. He is not a weapons guy, but has some good ideas Barnes and Noble has it.

M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle Plenty of room in the back for food, family, and some reloading equipment. The M3A2 ODS (shown here) is the perfect point-to-point transport vehicle. You can run most of the zombies over with little trouble and save your rounds for necessary battles.

Don't stick M&Ms in the marshmallows though, at that point, they'll consider it an "assault rifle".
