The FoxFire series of books are loaded with stuff like that, home remedies, Herbs in the wild. Also a book "The HERB Book" by John Lust and "A Field guide to Edible Plants" One of the Peterson Field Guide series.
I recommend them !

The set of books named "Foxfire" has just about all info needed to survive anywhere. I have a set and they should be read by anyone concerned with staying alive without all the modern things of today. There is a set on e-bay now. I have nothing to do with the sale. I just thought it would be nice for someone here to have.

The Foxfire series of books has an astounding amount of information on all manner of self sufficiency projects! But no Ewell Gibbons did NOT choke on a badger, he choked to death eating a beaver that he caught assualting his mighty oak....

Euell Gibbons died due to Marfan syndrome, with the result of an elongated aorta that burst.
