Sounds like your wife is trying to send you a message. Hand to hand is not for everybody. I would never try to get my wife involved in it. She also has pepper spray and can shoot he .22's. That's enough for me. I do not need a warrior woman.

I'm a volunteer firefighter and go out and watch out for tornaders when warnings/watches spring up. Everytime I go out she pretty much looses it, telling me it ain't my job.....yada, yada, yada. So I just walk out the door and don't answer the cell phone when she calls to check on me. By the time i get home, she's watching TV cuddled up with the dog and she has pretty much forgotten all about her "loosing it".
So in a SHTF scenario, I'd leave her with the dog and go do the dew.

Not to mention that Texas T is one of our resident female pistoleros, and I wouldn't like this "girly can't make it through the rough times" thread if I were her. Lots of women have made it through the rough times in history with a sixgun in hand. (though we know who started this thread, so that puts it in the "nonsense" category)

TT, this thread wasn't exactly old, and Aris has given no reason to believe that he meant any harm, he simply added what he would do, to a thread that was less than a week old. just because you post in a thread with a sexist title doesn't mean you are a sexist. i can understand you not liking the first post, but sharing a story of how his wife doesn't want to learn hand to hand combat is not offensive or stirring up trouble, and bravo has already been banned

myself, I would probably be more likely to go loony than most people, because in a SHTF scenario you really don't have much to look forward to unless it's just move to a new place and start your life over as normal, like a katrina type situation and i can't see many people going crazy in that situation, and the only likely disaster for this area would be an earthquake(or a nuke, but that would kill everybody anyways) so it wouldn't even really be THAT catastrophic

I am not trying to stir up anything. And I do not like being referred to as a troll or associated with such. I know I am new to this forum and such but this being "the friendliest gun forum" means that most people should not be handing out rude judgements based on little info. Before you try judging my actions or who I am, try and look at more than one thing I post and actually put some work into figuring out who I am.

You are new to the site and you started posting up a lot of SHTF threads just like the one who started this thread (and is subsequently banned). That always catches my suspicion. I was just wanting you to know that might not be the best thing to do. They can cause a lot of drama and unnecessary arguing.

Sheesh Goober, but then some of these folks like to throw out some half wild scenarios for us to think about. An unstable companion during a crisis is definately something to consider but some just take it too far.

aris, It really does sound like you are unfairly criticizing your wife for not wanting to learn hand to hand combat. I have zero interest in learning any hand to hand. I would not like it if my wife continually urged me to learn it and then wrote posts about me on a website. In another thread you lamented that your relatives are not with the program, and all the responsibility for survival will fall on you. At the beginning of this thread you mentioned your qualifications and how well you do in emergencies. While not offended by your statements, I found them a bit self-centered on your part. I can understand how the female members would react to your posts, as my reaction was not all that positive...though troll was a bit harsh.

I tried to learn that hand to hand stuff to protect me from my wife but it didnt work.So now I wear camo of all sorts and dont move whei I am hidden.One camo outfit I use the most is made out of the same material my comfy chaur is.As usual,learning to keep my mouth shut is the hardest to do. sam.
