What gear do you have?

What do you have for when the SHTF? What guns do you have? Do you bug in or out? Where do you go in a bug out?

I am working on creating SHTF supplies, guns, ammo, food, water, basically the shebang. I am very unprepared right now and short on money.

Every prepper's situation can be different, and preps would reflect those differences. Think about your location, your situation IF something bad happens, and what occurs when those unprepred folks around you realise they are in deep kimchi.
Do you stay in place? Depends on WHAT happens. Big hurricane, and you're on the coast - LEAVE. I'm further inland, and will 'Bug In'.
So, I have plenty food and water stored, plenty fuel for gas stove and lanterns, oil lamps, barbecue grills.
Are you set up for liquid & solid waste disposal, if the city waste system fails?
Got water, or are you on city water?
How long do you need to prep for?
I am at the 9 month level now - started prepping far too late, and am now catching up. Don't try to do a ten-year supply right off. Take it in stages - unless you have beaucoup money.
Guns - I have what I figure I'd need for defense, plus hunting and my special collections - milsurps, twentytwos, etc. Enough ammo for what I feel would happen. I'm not near a large city, so don't fear the huge masses of rabid city-sheeple that some would get.
My 'Bugout Vehicle' is a motorcycle - if it comes to leaving, I'll be going light and fast. But it'll take some serious stuff to get me to leave the homestead!

This is, as you may realise, a huge topic. I expect you'll get lots of input.

I live in a rural area so I will bug in unless something really bad happens. then I'll either load up the pickup truck or pack up the old ALICE pack and start walking. just depends on the situation. as far as supplies have more weapons than myself and the wife can carry alone so will only take a few of those. but other wise basic camping gear with MREs water filter system tents and bivys ect. also have some gps and radio communications gear and other electrionics I store in a EMP sheilded box in the tool shed. but it will be unlikely I will ever need to leave my semi-remote area.

I live in the woods, so I cannot really advise you. Not to cast my gloom over you, but if the end of the world would come, I would not want to be in your location. If you can, relocate out of Meto Detroit. I understand that there are good wooded areas and deer hunting in Michigan. Ted Nugent said so.
