Russia

Just saw on the news that we intercepted a Russian bomber that was treading close to our airspace. Does anyone trust Russia?

They wouldn't spy with a bomber. They probably were testing it to see if our radar would actually pick it up and yes A.H. we should have blown that right out of the sky.

After reading the article contained in that link, it seems that Russia is playing their usual games, seeing how far they can push us before we push back, the bastards.

Modern Russia

Modern Russia is not interested in land expansion.
They are interested in letting America and the world
know they are not intimidated by Bush, Rice, or
any other major power. So, little demonstrations
of airspace encroachment and other forms of
aggravation will continue.

Cat & mouse games between the super powers go on every day, it is no big deal. It is just political sabre-rattling. Do you imagine that the USA doesn't do the same to them???? How do they feel about American "spy planes" encroaching on their airspace??
I was working in China at the time the American P3 spyplane collided with the Chinese interceptor fighter, damn plane nearly came down on our heads. Lots of chinese guys were calling for retaliation like some of you guys today! Were they wrong???
I say at least two sides to every story and don't believe all one reads in the press and even less of what comes out of a politician's mouth.
ps Just playing Devils advocate.

pps. I worked in China for a total of just over 4 years and didn't meet any communists, all truly capitalists, looking to make the best life possible for themselves & their families exactly the same as most Russians, Eastern Europeans, Westerners and Americans.

We have had many, many facedowns with Bear Bombers here in AK. They just get escorted away. Nothing out of the ordinary.

It is my understanding despite the sybolism of the wall coming down Russian subs with enough nuclear warheads to bomb us all back to "Taliban" days have never stopped patrolling.

These types of tests are common enough. I'm sure we do them too.

The bomber was an OLD ASS Tupolev Tu-95. I doubt they were doing anything more than trying to provoke an armed response.

They test us every day. A favored run is down the East coast to Cuba.
