I'd get me a couple sacks of rice, beans, flour, and corn meal and hunker down. Yep, I'd stay home until I was forced out.

I'd be right at home guarding the castle, everything I need is right here, too much stuff to move.I have a few good neighbours that have guns too,and are smart. There's also alot of woods in my area, but it could be dangerous in there too.The city would be the worst place to be,leave as soon as possible if something bad happened.

Get 'em ahead of time. Don't cost much.

Organize a neighbor militia or just get neighbors to a collective body of knowlege.
Protect the city's water wells
and
Get 30 armed citizens to stand guard at Wal mart.
"Sorry, Walmart is closed till further notice"
"now stand back 50 yards or you will be shot"
"This is now MY Wal Mart!!"

Probably my grandparents about 40 miles away. They live out in the boonies and have got almost 7000 square feet between their main house and their "play" house. The main house has a safe room that is practically nuke-proof, and the "play" house is actually a big 3-bay garage, one of which was built as very nice living quarters, which could be much more easily fortified. They also live around several different family members who own adjacent plots, all of which (including them) are gun-owners. Finally, they all own generators.

Depending on the events that take place I would have to judge how bad I thought it would get to determine whether I should just lock myself up in my house with the probably 1weeks worth of food, gun in lap, and wait for it to blow over; or to BO as fast as I could to the grandparent's.

Another option is my dad's house who has about the most secure house of any Ive ever seen in my town of ~100k. If rioting or looting breaks out Id actually feel safer in his house than at the grandparents, save for the fact that the grandparent are much further out of the way of where the trouble will most likely hit.

I'd hunker down at home until the worst was over. The first stages of M/Law are the worst, but bugging out would be getting stuck on the roads as everybody would be there at once. [No fuel] Getting past the check points would be a logistical nightmare with all your family, supplies, and guns. There is a new book on surviving M/Law, and it shows you how to deal with troops, chaos and how to plan ahead. Nothing would be worse than a city starving and without water.

I already live in the country. I'll likely be one of those shooting at the City Folk trying to invade my place.

me'n my man would head for his East Texas land, unless we were already there, which should be in about a year, then we'd stockpile more ammo, keep the guns loaded, and live off the fatta the lan'.

I would probably head either to my husband's relatives who live close to the smokies; go into Canada where some of my family live or head to my mother's native Philippines and get a job driving the jeepneys (worse case scenario, of course!).

Currently if a situation arises where staying in our house wouldn't be feasible we would bug in at my work site. We have plenty of food water and an established defense system all ready in place. If this takes place next year then hopefully I'll be in Northern Arkansas making sure the pond is stocked and ready to go.

Well If it was zombies I would lock and load my .22 go up on the roof take the thousands of ammo I got and keep aiming for the head. rioting in the street I would stay at home me and my brother take turns on shifts on who watch the door with his 12 ga. Alien invasion, well not many options, what kind of aliens are you talking about the ones from independence day where they got those shields? or from war of the worlds where you can't kill them too, But they can die from disease? As for a foreign invasion I would head down to the battle field, although I think if they They would use nuclear bombs, they would use it on Detroit and I'm only 7 miles away from detroit so I would probably be dead. All situations I would be a dead man, we don't pile up on food so we would most likely starve in any and all cases, unless for the over populated bunny's.

It's been on my mind a little bit more than usual lately. With the economy the way it is and heading and Iran going nuclear and North Korea being nuclear now, both countries are flippin' nuts. But Iran is the one to watch. They'll happily accept being a martyr country.

Either way, it's been on my mind. And I've come to the conclusion, we'd be SCREWED (us as a family that is, not us as a country, well who knows, maybe the country would also be, would depend on the SHTF situation/crisis). If it's nuclear or even just a "dirty bomb", Chicago would more than likely be a city targeted. Unless the wind was blowing from the north, I don't think we'd have the time to bug out. We're only about 45 minutes south of Chi-town. And then, how far do you go, not knowing where to go or having anywhere to go? Then factor in, everyone will be trying to leave at the same time.

I've realized, it's not a bad idea to keep your gas tank as full as possible as often as possible, in case you do have to bug out at a moments notice and if it's nuclear or dirty bomb, will they even be open or let you get gas to leave. So if or unless you have at the very least a half a tank of gas, your kind of stuck anyhow...

If it's an economic thing, and people are getting stupid, I think it'd be best to stay put. The problem there, not enough stocked food. Even if we had it, we have no where to store it. Small house and no room. lol And most everything has a best if used by date anymore. I think Peter Griffin (family guy) had it right, TWINKIES. Them and cock-a-roaches; about the
only 2 things that will make it. lmao

But if the economic crash type SHTF were to happen in the winter, natural gas and electricity could become a problem, we'll probably have to bug out because of the cold, but where does or would one go. We for example, have no property, friends or relatives where it's warm that's would be feasible to go to. Many people might be cold and cautious to helping strangers, in MHO.

Let's just say, I pray that if it's nuclear, the ones I love will feel no pain nor suffer. And if it's an economic crash, I can only pray people will help one another and not go psycho and not turn into a bunch of raving lunatics. If they do, best to stay put for a while.

For those with children, grandchildren, parents and grand parents who may need care, it's a bit more of a concern and troubling situation to just up and leave, after all, what about them?

But honestly, those are the only two real situations I'm concerned about, economical and nuclear/"dirty bomb". As for terrorists, they'll more than likely be the cause/reason for or of the "dirty bomb"?

Zombies, not a real big concern at the moment....lmao

Considering the fact that in a large-scale SHTF scenario, the FEDS and Authorities will be knocking on your door to take your firearms...I will choose to bugout, just so I don't have to deal with them.

Now, consider I live in a 1000 sq. ft. apartment and there really isn't much worth defending. If I had a house somewhere with some land, it may be a different story. But, I don't believe really any home or dwelling in an urban city environment is worth defending in a massive SHTF scenario.
