you could fly during the day and make some good pipe bombs and if someone did take a shot at you take um out.do some air drops on them.

I was thinking also if fuel was not an issue and lets just say you have an endless supply (Ya im dreaming right now lol) an armored truck wouldnt be bad either. I meen you can stick a pistol out the little wholes and exchange fire if fired apon, also most have bullet proof glass, and most have lots of money in them lol ok im kidding about the money but you could fit a whole family in one and be fairly safe.

The Ultra light is neat but it's very limited to the amount of cargo you can take. At most you can only have one other person with you. As for flying at night, those things are loud wouldn't take much to figure out where it is and where it's headed. The armored car is ok if you can stay on paved roads the whole time. A simple road block and Molotov cocktails would end that ride rather quickly.

I think versatility is the biggest asset you want in a BOV. ATV's and side x sides provide this in spades, as do motorbikes and the simple mountain bike. Look at history, the VC moved tons of supplies with nothing more than bicycles over rough terrain. Of course a lot depends on how far your destination is. Under 200 miles a bike is still feasible but if you're going much further you'd want something motorized. For me, as I already mentioned, it's a Cherokee.

If you're near waterways don't discount a boat. Even a good canoe can carry a lot of gear and can negotiate most creeks and streams with at least 6-12 inches of depth. Jon boats are also very versatile and inexpensive, throw a small motor on it and you're set.

well the car and you might make it to the destination but the atv might be a bit shot up. hell just go and get a am-track from the national guard. years ago i helpd weld 50 or so of them down to a barge so they could be pushed off the side into the gulf of mexico??? they was nice to they had stripped the oil and engines out but the tracks and all was still on themall you needed was an engine and oil lines.oh and a back door and hatchs they did remove the hatches so the fishs could make reafs out of them. the good old florida national guad was out here with us .fine young ladies too.lol

well i can't afford an armored car but yes that would be ausome, course you can get civilian armored cars these days too, still the atv does seem better IMO, it can tow, it can handle most terrian, 90-400 pounds should be plenty, i want to travel light, but of course i am leaning torwards the rokon, everyone should check that out, it can hold two, it can ford over a foot of water, it is two wheel drive, can take 60 percent grades, goes about 40 miles per hour, can put water or fuel in each tire, i think if you fill both tires with fuel you can get about 1000 miles on it and it is less than 10 gallons of gas, course i live in the desert and would rather have one with water and one with fuel since 4.5 gallons of water in the desert is great and you don't have to carry it on your back, you can gt panniers to put on it, it has many attack ments, plow, tiller, generator, so you could run a small farm with it. and it will be my next purchase if i get some sort of vehicles

Depends, I feel myself. Jeep Cherokee late 80s, restored or well maintained if initial SHTF, or early 70s GM truck. I do like the concept of an earlier model truck with V8. But, if I had the time, Ford Crown Vic, Police Interceptor model. Body on frame design, 135 mph, special idle mechanism. More stable than a truck or SUV.

I'd just take a horse. go just about anyware and i dont have to worry bout gas. it can eat grass anywhere and water is plenty available. Much quieter too. Besides in an SHTF situation im heading for the hills and a vehicle ain't a gonna do me no good.

I did a lot of persuasion (hammering) inside the front fenders and it helped, but the turning radius is noticably reduced. I took it out yesterday and that reduced radius was very annoying. Though, the tires were a huge benefit traction-wise. I am definately going to lift it. Here is a quick photoshop I did of the lift I am probably going to buy next paycheck with the front axle forward one inch:

Just hope I can afford all the reloading supplies I want AND the lift, hehe.

For the work horse I would go with an antique steam powered tractor pulling a large trailer. As long as I can find something to burn and water I am mobile. For scouting I would use an alcohol powered golf cart with the governor removed. Make your own alcohol with a still.
