My wife asks why I have so many lighters, guns, packed bags. I am not waiting for anything just habits from my ARMY days. Always be prepared.

![]() Yeah, told ya it worked well. ;-) You just can't knock those old Boy Scout tricks! Oh, and like Mooseman said, SMALL, I realize I only said "some", but you don't really need more than what could fit in the palm of your hand if you've got the wood set up right. Oh, and remember, it has to be FINE steel wool. Anything coarser will not work with a 9V battery, I've tried. And make sure it's pure steel wool, any additives like soap will make it not work. Just reminders. ;-) | |

Steel wool and a battery, thanks McGuyver! Also dryer lint or newspaper covered in Parafin rolled up tight, tied, and cut into small circles. A bag of wood shavings comes in handy - got plenty of that from the planer; also makes for good mulch.

| I used to watch that show religiously. I still love Richard Dean Anderson as an actor, so I watch Stargate SG-1. Yano, that newspaper trick was actually in the Boy Scout Handbook that I still have. Whenever I go camping, I take it with me because it has so much good stuff. |

We used to make survival kits out of a soap contanier. Better method would be a piece of pvc tubing capped on both ends; probably about 1-1/2" in diameter. Ingredients: Fish line hook aluminum foil (12"x12" min size) matches or small lighter razor blade some type of tinder small compass some type of anticeptic gel real small, but sturdy rope, 1/8" braided nylon about 20 feet

| Makes sense, it's a carbohydrate with infused oils. Same as how brazil nuts burn really well; lots of oil.

Spaghetti Noodles (Uncooked) burn like a match when lit, Great for reaching in a Deep hole to light a pilot light...I also carry a small magnifying glass or a solar cigarette lighter...

Tell her, "Yeah, I'll make a garden if you'll pull the plow". Go ahead and do it...just to see what she says. Can I have your shotgun?

JBS...We only had one kid, he's 24 years old, he has 4 degree's. I wanted him to apply for medical school, his mama wanted him to go to law school. When he finised college he went into teaching. Because our public schools are in shambles and no child left behind BULL Sh_T he made a career change and has become a policeman. Now he's arresting the dope head, drug dealing trouble makers he taught. For all the one's reading this that are policemen, I'm behind my son 1000 percent, I have more respect for police officers than I've ever had and am blown away with the sh_t you have to indur this day and time.
